Overview of Twin Oaks Baptist Church

Twin Oaks Baptist Church is a very active and growing church located in Franklin County, VA. We are associated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia. We are theologically conservative with an open-minded approach to ministry.

We currently have a membership of over 300 with an average Sunday morning worship attendance of 250.  Wednesday evenings include an active Awana program, teen ministry, and adult Bible study. We also have other activities and Bible studies throughout the week.

Role Summary for Family Life Pastor

Twin Oaks is searching for a Family Life Pastor to provide vision, oversight, and direction to all aspects of our family ministry which will include providing spiritual direction for our children and student ministries, and discipling parents in all aspects of family life. The Family Life Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

  • Overseeing Ministries to Parents:
    • Develop and implement a plan for on-going parent training and encouragement
    • This will include leading studies on marriage, family relationships, parenting, and other pertinent subjects related to the family
  • Overseeing Children’s Ministries:
    • Work with our Children’s Ministries Coordinators to help oversee our Children’s Ministries
    • This will include:
      • Helping in the recruitment, training, and development of leaders and workers
      • Oversight of curriculum
      • Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place for children’s ministries
  • Overseeing Student Ministries:
    • Work with our Student Ministries Leaders to help oversee our Student Ministries
    • Oversight will include:
      • Helping in the recruitment, training, and development of leaders and workers
      • Oversight of curriculum
      • Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place for student ministries
  • Other Pastoral Duties:
    • Assist our Senior Pastor in the shepherding of our church family
    • This will include visitation, occasional times of preaching, and other various pastoral duties

Ministry Experience and Education

  • One to five years of ministry experience with a bachelor’s degree in a ministry related field
